Bpt,

You wrote this, in another section of the blog:

"#2 for "Live Magic" and #3 for "A Kind Of Magic".."

However, I cvan read this in this entry

"Final Countdown - Europe - #3
Mar Português - Nuno da Câmara Pereira (4#1)
Live Magic - Queen - #3
Rui Veloso - Rui Veloso (3#1)
Dezembros - Maria Bethânia (1#1)"

So was Queen's "Live Magic" #2 or #3? Maybe a typo mistake.

Portugal Sales Decline

Lisbon - Recently released figures on Portuguese vinyl sales show a severe downward trend for all formats, excluding cassettes and CDs. Combined singles and album sales dropped from 5,200,347 in 1986 to 3,924,947 last year. However, the Portuguese industry expects the boom in CD and cassette sales to continue. CD sales surged by almost 200% to 226,688 in 1987 from 76,687 in 1986, while cassette sales were up 84.42% to 2,112,488 from 1,145,436 The Beatles back catalogue topped the CD sales list, exceeding 20,000 units.

PolyGram has the largest market share (33.11%), followed by EMI (28.41%), CBS (16.92%), Reader's Digest (8.64%) and Transmedia (2.41%). However, EMI is market leader in terms of domestic product with a 35.12% market share.
